In line with World Toilet Day this November, Manila Water highlights the importance of desludging to advance sanitation efforts across Metro Manila and Rizal Province. Desludging plays a crucial role in maintaining safe, clean communities. World Toilet Day, set by the United Nations for November 19, aims to address the global sanitation crisis impacting 3.5 billion people without safe sanitation.

Each month, Manila Water’s desludging tankers provide free siphoning services to scheduled barangays, ensuring proper treatment of collected wastewater at Septage Treatment Plants before discharge. By offering regular desludging, Manila Water supports environmental health and contributes to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. This November, scheduled visits will cover key barangays in Quezon City, Manila, Pasig, Makati, Taguig, Marikina, and several in Rizal.
