Stakeholders push for better PH water management at Water Philippines 2025

MARCH 20, 2025

Local and international stakeholders renewed their call for improved water management during the 7th Water Philippines forum, held from March 19 to 21 at the SMX Convention Center Manila. Organized by Informa Markets and aligned with the Bagong Pilipinas program, the event showcased innovations in water filtration, wastewater treatment, and sustainable practices. The National Water Resources Board reported that around 11 million Filipino families still lack access to clean water, a concern worsened by population growth, pollution, and extreme weather.

With the theme “Shaping the Future of Water Management,” the forum underscored the need for collaborative action and practical solutions. Datuk Ir. Abdul Kadir Mohd Din of ASIAWATER highlighted the event’s role in introducing technologies tailored to local needs. The exhibition featured experts sharing best practices in sanitation, water supply, and industrial treatment. Despite challenges, the event fostered a shared commitment to strengthening water infrastructure and ensuring clean, reliable access for communities nationwide.
